ADULT COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: CBS is made up of four programs serving the mentally ill in their home communities. The goal of these programs is to assist the individual to live and to maintain themselves in their communities and reduce the need for further hospitalization as much as possible. Programs available are: Targeted Case Management, Community Support Program (CSP), Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS). Each program has specific criteria for entrance into the program. Please call for further information on the programs. Crisis Services are being implemented in 2008.

FAMILY & CHILDREN'S CENTER - ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Alternative Education Program is a private school that offers middle and high school instruction to at-risk students. Through the use of intensive academic support, positive reinforcement and Afterhours detention, the Alternative Education Program assists students in receiving credits and moving toward reintegration in a public school. The Afterhours Program is a service for youth who are experiencing difficulties while in school. Their behaviors typically include truancy, tardiness, poor behavior and/or failing grades. Students are brought to the Alternative Education Program building to serve detention time. During Afterhours, students are kept busy with academic work and/or behavioral planning.

FAMILY & CHILDREN'S CENTER - DAYTREATMENT PROGRAM

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Day Treatment is a half-day mental health program that utilizes a group therapy format. Treatment plans are individualized. Clients may attend a home school or the Alternative Education Program for the remaining half-day.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Winona Youth Home provides 24 hour per day treatment for emotionally disturbed youth ages 12-17. The Winona Youth Home offers an alternative for youth with exceptional behavioral and emotional needs, while allowing the youth to live in a home environment.
